I had been talking to Eric for a few days, via email, and after going back and forth, we settled on a price. I had been approved for my loan, after jumping through hoops with the finance company, making sure they had all the income verification info they needed, and told Eric on Wed (5/31/17), that I would be in on Sat (6/3), to get the car. I even asked him if he needed me to provide a deposit via credit card, and his exact reply was, "So long as I know you are attempting to make it happen I will hold it." On Thursday afternoon, Eric sends me an email, telling me that while he was off this morning, the car I had made a deal on was sold! My interpretation: someone came in and offered more than I did. Talk about sleazy sales practices. I will be filing a complaint with the PA Attorney General's office, for devious sales practices. I will also be posting on every review site I can find, NOT TO BUY FROM Zimmerman's Automotive in Mechanicsburg, PA!
Ron, Thank you for your feedback on your experience at Zimmerman's. I would like to apologize to you for your adverse experience. We had a severe lack of communication between sales people and many extenuating experiences happened here. It has been our practice to not feel that deposits are needed on a deal. We are looking at our practices and will be making changes. We have been in business serving our community since 1958. Again, I apologize for your bad experience. Sincerely, Judy Zimmerman Walter 2nd generation owner.
